HTC One Android 4.2.2 Update Out But What Was Its Actual Purpose?

When the KitKat 4.4.2 update arrived for the HTC One owners were very happy. It brought them cloud printing and security enhancements. The update was well received but some people wanted to know if the update made any difference to the purple tinge on the photos taken with the camera.

Over in Canada Wind, Rogers, SaskTel and Bell have all said that the HTC One and the HTC One Mini is getting the update.

Over in the US those with the HTC One will get updated thanks to Sprint, AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon. The international HTC One Sense is going to get updated over in the US.

The Jelly Bean 4.2.2 update will make its way to the HTC One X and this should be the final update that the handset gets. An executive at HTC did confirm this. He said that the update will come out about the same time as KitKat 4.4.2 arrives on the HTC One.

The update will offer carrier specific updates but also some features will be seen with all of the carriers. These will include Sense 5.5, cloud printing, enhancements to security, Bluetooth profiles, Blinkfeed update and UI changes.

The purple or red tinge is one issue that many owners have complained about after taking photos. With the Jelly Bean 4.3 update many owners thought that this would be fixed. However a user did say that the issue isn’t related to software, it is a hardware problem that needs fixing at the HTC Centre.

If you want to make the issue a little less obtrusive you can alter the contrast and saturation in the camera app for the time being.
