There was a rumour going around that Google would launch the Nexus 10 2nd gen. It was said that it would arrive on Black Friday but it came and went and the tablet was a no show. It was rumoured that the Nexus 10 2nd gen would be in competition with the Apple iPad.
Someone mentioned a device that had the name of the LG V510 and they thought that it could be the Nexus 10 2nd gen. People thought that it could be on the shelves in time for Christmas but they it was revealed that this was the LG G Pad.
Now there has been talk that we may not see the Google Nexus 10 2nd gen at all.
The Nexus tablet is very affordable while being of high quality at the same time. We have seen this with the launch of the Nexus 4, 5 and 7.
When the Nexus 10 was launched things were different as Google seemed to have issues with sourcing components that were high end while keeping the costs of the tablet down. The production costs kept increasing but Google would not compromise on specs.
This could have led to Google putting off a second gen tablet as they find a manufacturer that offers what they want. At the moment it is looking as though Asus, LG and Samsung have not done this.
The Apple iPad Air has sold millions of units while the Nexus 10 could not compare with it. The Nexus 10 has been said to have sold about 600,000 units during Q2 and the iPad has sold in many millions.
If this is true then the Google Nexus 10 may be seen by Google as being a flop and so they will not launch a follow up to it.
The Google Nexus 10 2nd gen would need to have the quad core Snapdragon 800 processor, along with 2GB of RAM and the Adreno 330 graphic engine so that it can compete with the Apple iPad Air.
