The Google Nexus 10 tablet has been expecting a successor since last year and that has yet to make an entry. In fact, the highly anticipated Google Nexus 10 2 might not even come at all.
A new string of rumours have surfaced suggesting that Google will be developing a Nexus 9 tablet instead of the bigger 10. This upcoming device is hinted to be the replacement of the Nexus 10 series or even the Nexus 7. The latter is more unlikely considering its success on the market.
The Nexus 9 will have a display measuring 8.9inch diagonally and will have the latest specs on the market at the moment. Word has it that HTC will be at the helm of production. The Taiwanese company has a bad spell in the tablet market and it will take this opportunity to make a comeback. The Nexus 9 is believed to be unveiled during Google I/O conference in June this year.
On the other hand, the rumours that claims the Nexus 10 2 will arrive in Q3 this year is still strong. This upcoming slate is expected to run on either the Nvidia Tegra 4 or the Qualcomm 800 Snapdragon processor with Adreno GPU 330 and 3GB RAM. It will have 32GB of storage space, an 8MP rear camera, 2.1MP front-facing camera, 9500mAh battery and a display that offers 2560 x 1600 pixel resolution with 299ppi.
If all the rumour were to be true, then the Nexus line of device will be coming to a close by the end of this year. Popular tech analyst, Elder Murtazin claims that Google will be looking to focus on Google Play in the future.
