AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note 3 users are probably regretting getting this high-end phablet with this carrier. This is due to AT&T’s sluggish approach to address a major bug that has been plaguing the devices for months now.
This bug will cause the GPS to disconnect whenever a network switch happens. Say for example a user is running the GPS when he received a call. While answering the phone call, the Note 3 might switch between 4G network to LTE or from LTE to HSPA+. Regardless of what switch it is, the GPS will end up disconnecting which is quite tedious for the users.
On another note, it seems that plugging in the micro USB charger on the Note 3 or removing it will have the same effect.
Users are clearly frustrated and they have been pleading for the fix for so long now. Some of them even tripped and took the case to change.org. The ugly thing is that AT&T is still selling the problematic Note 3 without even warning the consumers.
However, there is a reason for the delay. It seems that the telco is looking to send out the fix together with the upcoming Android 4.4 KitKat update. After all, this latest Android OS is already released on other carriers while AT&T is holding it.
Indeed the Android 4.4 KitKat will wave the bug goodbye. If only AT&T addressed the issue the moment it was raised. Things will definitely be calm right now.
