Lexus is a well-known carmaker and it is also the luxury division of Toyota. For a huge automotive company, it is surprising when one learned that Lexus has yet to introduce any turbocharged petrol engine with their vehicles.
Well, this has finally changed when Lexus launched the NX200t to the European market last week. The SUV came out with the first ever turbocharged petrol engine from Lexus and it gave the vehicle more power than ever.
In detail, the 2L 4-cylinder direct injection VVT turbocharged motor develops 238hp and 350Nm of torque. This basically allows the NX200T to sprint from 0-62mph in just 7.1 seconds and there is a top speed of 124mph.
For a petrol mill with a turbocharger, the engine can be quite environment friendly as it returns CO2 emissions that is rated at 178g/km. Of course, it would be better if the NX200T is to run on a diesel motor but the petrol engine is not so bad after all.
