Mini has already confirmed that they are building the next-gen John Cooper Works Mini Cooper Cabriolet and it will look to be the fastest open-top car ever developed by the German-owned, British-based carmaker.
Mini will be looking to achieve this by installing a 2L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine which packs 228hp and 236ft-lbs of torque while being driven on the FWD system. Also, consumers will be able to choose between a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed Steptronic automatic transmission.
In numbers, the JCW Mini Cooper Convertible will be able to sprint from 0-62mph in a record time of 6.3seconds if running on the manual gearbox. Otherwise, the Cooper Convertible will complete the acceleration at a better time of 6.1seconds when driven with the automatic box.
Now, new spy shots on the JCW Mini Cooper Convertible got leaked online and it saw the hatchback showing off more skin. Judging from the leaked images, the Mini Cooper Convertible will look to come with redesigned front and rear bumpers, side skirts, 18-inch wheels and twin, central-mounted pipes.
