Capcom has confirmed that they are currently developing Resident Evil 7. Fans of the Resident Evil series should be hyped about this as Resident Evil 7 will look to return to its horror root like how it was in the first Resident Evil trilogy.
While this has yet to get any confirmation from Capcom, a leak screenshot for Resident Evil 7 suggests so. In detail, the screenshot shows Resident Evil 7 returning to Racoon City, which is also the location for the first Resident Evil trilogy.
If so, then there is no doubt that Resident Evil 7 will look to come with the horror genre intact. Long have the fans waited for this moment after facing countless disappointment ever since Capcom introduced a fast-paced, third-person shooter in Resident Evil 4, 5 and 6.
Then again, it is also worth noting that this is merely based on a leak and it requires confirmation from Capcom. Until that happens, fans are best to take the above with a pinch of salt.
