Lexus confirmed yesterday that the upcoming RX Facelift, which involves both the RX340 and RX450, will be built with aluminium parts. In detail, the future SUV is going to feature aluminium for its hood, tailgate and closures.
The use of aluminium is aimed at dragging the weight of the RX Facelift down so that the vehicle can be better optimized for power and more fuel economical at the same time but it does leave many worried that the aluminium will make the RX Facelift less durable.
This is because aluminium is viewed as a weaker material compared to conventional metals. Well, the car junkies can bury their worries as Lexus assured everyone that their brand of aluminium will be as strong and durable as conventional metals.
This can only mean well for the RX Facelift as it will be more powerful and more economical while also being lighter but equally strong like before. The Lexus RX Facelift is due to make its debut at the end of this year and it will see how much aluminium changes the SUV.
