ASUS had just launched the Zenfone 2 over at Taiwan and it created a huge buzz in the tech world. This is because the Zenfone 2 came out with an insane spec sheet while costing from as little as $158 without contract.
In detail, four variants of the Zenfone 2 were produced and released earlier today. The first is a 5-inch Zenfone 2 (ZE500CL) and this particular device runs on a 1.6GHz Intel Atom Z2560, 2GB RAM, HD display and 16GB memory for $158.
Up one level, there is the ZE550ML and it features a larger 5.5” 720p display. This trim is powered by a 1.8GHz Intel Atom Z2560. Everything else is similar to the ZE500CL except for the fact that the ZE550ML retails at $190.
The following trim is the ZE551ML model and it features a 5.5-inch 1080 display, 1.8GHz processor, 2GB RAM and 32GB memory for $221.
The top of the range model is the ZE551ML and it is this particular device that created a global craze in an instant. The ZE551ML runs on a 2.3Ghz Intel Z3580 with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage space. To complete the package, the ZE551ML retails at only $285. Talk about cheap!
