Ford has done it all from being the pioneer in the automotive industry to winning tons of awards for the EcoBoost engine technology. If there is one thing Ford has yet to accomplish, it is a powerful, reliable and practical vehicle that runs solely on electricity.
Soon, this will look to change when Ford revealed earlier today that they intend to challenge the highly popular Chevrolet Bolt and the Tesla Model 3. The carmaker was specific in their statement which confirms that they are developing a long-range EV car in the near future.
Unfortunately, Ford has failed to share the name of the EV and didn’t go into details on the approximate range of the car. Even so, the moment Ford mentioned long range, we are surely looking past the 200-mile distance per charge.
Of course, Ford has every right to keep its lips sealed on the EV project but can expect every detail spilled when the EV car gets unveiled at this year’s LA Auto Show. The mysterious vehicle is also expected to be ready for the Tesla Model 3 and the next-gen Bolt that are due to arrive in 2017.
