Like how Valve is with Half Life 3, Bethesda is very secretive in regards to Fallout 4. This has left the Fallout fans in frustration as they desire to know on the development status of the highly anticipated sequel. For years already, the fans have been relying on rumours for information.
If they are to follow the latest word on Fallout 4, they will surely be devastated as the game has been cancelled from production by Bethesda. Apparently, this is due to a disagreement that involves Fallout’s original creator, Interplay Entertainment.
In detail, Bethesda has been attempting to develop Fallout 4 into a massive MMORPG title but their move was constantly stopped by Interplay Entertainment. Bethesda is upset by it as they can’t create a sequel to a franchise that they have fully acquired just like how they want it to be. As such, the frustrated Bethesda has decided to toss Fallout 4 into the bin and move on to their other IP.
Of course, this is what the rumours are saying so it is best to take it with a pinch of salt. While it does sound likely for Bethesda to push their online gameplay ideology, it is difficult to accept that Fallout 4 has been discarded just like that.
