$179 Android Phone Boasts Octacore, 3GB RAM & LTE

There is a lot of anticipation for the Samsung Galaxy S6 as it will look to be the first mainstream Android-powered device to run on a 64-bit processor. However, the certainty is that the S6 will be super expensive after it makes its debut.

For those that desire a high-end performance like how it is promised on the S6, they can look at China’s Jiayu S3. Retailing at only $179, the device might sound like a cheap knock-off smartphone but amazingly, it is not.

The Jiayu S3 actually runs on a 64-bit Mediatek processor with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. This ensures that power is adequately supplied to the 5.5” 1080p full HD display that boasts 400ppi.

To complete the package, the Jiayu S3 comes with a 13MP rear camera, 5MP front shooter, 4G LTE connectivity, 3000mAh removable battery, 64GB microSD support and LDS Laser Antenna for better GPS accuracy.

Clearly, the Jiayu S3 is not a joke and should be taken seriously. The smartphone is more powerful than the Samsung Galaxy S5 and it is also cheaper too. This brings us the question; will the Samsung Galaxy S6 be able to compete with the Jiayu S3?
