Bethesda might be pending to announce anything on Fallout 4 but that does not change the fact that the sequel’s debut is imminent. Even with no official announcement on Fallout 4, it is for certain that the highly anticipated title will be making its debut on both the Xbox One and PS4.
Then again, it does not mean that Fallout 4 is going to look spectacular when played on the latest gaming machines. Apparently, this is because Fallout 4 is going to run on the old game engine that was used on Elder Scrolls Skyrim.
Looking back at how Bethesda produced Fallout 3, the previous title was developed on Elder Scrolls Oblivion game engine. If the pattern is to follow, then Fallout 4 will be running on Skyrim’s game engine indefinitely.
While Skyrim does look great graphically, it won’t appear spectacular when played on the Xbox One and PS4. In other words, Fallout 4 will only look decent at best when it makes its debut.
For Fallout 4 to look impressive, they will require a new generation of game engine and it is unlikely for Bethesda to produce one yet. After all, developing a new game engine requires a lot of money and time.
As such, Fallout fans will have to keep their expectations on Fallout 4 at its bare minimum to avoid disappointment.
