Gamers who are fans of the Half Life franchise have been waiting to hear about news of Half Life 3. Valve have been keeping very quiet about the game and up to now gamers have no idea when it might be released.
We have heard numerous leaks and speculation regarding the game but none of the hints about release came to fruition.
Recently a new rumour has started to circulate and this tells us that we may have to wait for the release of Half Life 3 until after Occulus have developed and released the VR headsets that they are working on. It has been said that the VR headsets will be the gaming of the future.
We have seen a beta version of SteamVR and it does look superb, while games have been revealed for development, at the moment there are no AAA titles.
Occulus and Valve are working closely together and things are progressing well. When it is ready it should be one of the most prized possessions of Valve and it could go on to take over the gaming industry.
Such a product will need a super AAA title, so it will be launched with something very big, which could be Half Life 3. Valve have been keeping secrets with Rift for some time now, which suggests that it could have something to do with Half Life 3.
At the moment this is nothing but speculation and some people may say that the idea is stupid. So for now we will just have to wait for Valve to speak up.
