There are two big things that are pending to get announced by Valve and they are Source 2 and Half Life 3. For ten years already, fans have been kept waiting for the latter but now they have come to realized that it is Source 2 that requires their anticipation.
This is basically because without Source 2, there can’t be Half Life 3. The new game engine is core to give the future Half Life title high-end graphics and a more immersive gaming world. Unfortunately, Source 2’s development has been hanging on the thread.
While Valve has failed to share any status updates on Source 2, the rumours are rife in claiming that the next-gen game engine has got its production continuously placed on hold. This is due to Valve, which is more focused on publishing average titles on their Steam platform.
The solution for Half Life 3 is rather simple and it is for Valve to give Source their undivided attention. There is no doubt that once Source 2 is launched, announcements on Half Life 3 will come shortly after.
