Late last year, the Nexus 5 shook the world with the latest Android 4.4.2 OS running the smartphone. The OS, known as KitKat, is not an ordinary one as it can support the lower-tier smartphones. As such, there has been overwhelming demand for the KitKat to be rolled out for all the other phones.
The Galaxy Note 3 was among the long list of smartphone waiting for the update. It was previously reported that this latest phablet from Samsung will get the KitKat by the first quarter this year. Well those reports appear to be true as the update is about to happen.
US telco giant, Sprint, notified their Note 3 users that they will receive the KitKat before the end of February this month.
The 4.4.2 KitKat is expected to offer users plenty of great changes. This includes:
1. New lock screens.
2. Media Controls.
3. Camera shortcut.
4. SMS App choser.
5. Restyled status and notification bar.
6. Consolidated location settings.
7. Expanded Emoji icons.
8. Wireless printing.
Of course there are many more to this list. As Sprint is preparing to rollout the 4.4.2 KitKat, it would certainly force other telcos to make a move as well. The winning side will be with the users as they finally get their hands on the KitKat.
