Fallout 4 is widely believed to be the next big title to come from Bethesda and there is no doubt that the highly anticipated game will be making its debut on both the Xbox One and the PS4. Even so, it is wrong to think that Fallout 4 will come with high end graphics as that is unlikely to happen.
This is evident if fans of the Fallout series are to look at Fallout 3. Back then, the game was running on a game engine that was used by Bethesda’s other title, Elder Scrolls Oblivion. If the trend is to continue, then Fallout 4 will surely run on Elder Scrolls Skyrim’s game engine.
Of course, this does not mean that Skyrim is not graphically powerful. The RPG title is one of the best looking games from the older gen consoles but it will only look decent if played on the latest gaming hardwares.
Also, Bethesda won’t be developing a new game engine for Fallout 4 since doing so will require a lot of money and time. If Fallout 4 runs on Skyrim’s game engine, Bethesda can save a lot of money in developing the game. Besides, doing so will mean that Fallout 4 can be released to the older gen consoles as well.
Of course, there is no proving this point until Bethesda starts spilling the beans on Fallout 4. It is just our expectations for the game and we recommend Fallout fans to offer something similar.
