Kingdom Hearts 3: Nomura Wants Star Wars But Does George?

Kingdom hearts 3 is currently in development and like every other Kingdom Hearts titles, there is a strong excitement on new worlds making an appearance in the game.

As we all know, the Kingdom Hearts series is the product of both Square Enix and Disney. Ever since the latter has acquired LucasArts, there has been a huge buzz on the possibility of Star Wars characters to make its way into Kingdom Hearts 3.

It is not just the fans who want to see the likes of Obi Wan Kenobi fighting off Xenahorts. Even Tetsuya Nomura shares the same dream. However, the game’s director revealed that licenses are required to bring in Star Wars characters in Kingdom Hearts 3.

Nomura revealed that there are actually many rules and restrictions by Disney in effect. Even though both Square Enix and Disney are collaborating to create Kingdom Hearts 3, there are procedures to follow. Despite that fact, Nomura assured fans that there will be plenty of surprises coming to Kingdom Hearts 3.

As for the case with Star Wars, Nomura revealed claimed that the developers have been discussing about it. While the excitement is clear, it is subject to approval from Disney.

On another note, having Star Wars in Kingdom Hearts 3 worries a handful of the fans. The idea of Jedis fighting Xenahorts might spoil the balance of the game. Star Wars characters are simple overpowered.

Looking back at previous Kingdom Hearts games, only core Disney worlds are added into the gaming series. The most extreme of them is with Pirates of The Caribbean and Tron. At the moment, the developers are still deciding on the worlds coming to Kingdom Hearts 3.

No matter how Kingdom Hearts 3 will turn out to be, fans trust Square Enix to deliver. After all, the Kingdom Hearts series has yet to disappoint the gaming industry.
