We knew that Mazda was working on upgrade the Mazda CX-9 but we were still surprised by all the upgrades it will be getting when it arrives.
Not only will the Mazda CX-9 be coming in with an upgraded exterior design as well as an interior makeover, the Mazda CX-9 will also be coming with a more fuel economy powertrain this time around.
EPA reveal that the Mazda CX-9 with the AWD system will now be able to offer about 21mpg in the city and 27mpg on the highway. The FWD model will return about 22mpg in the city and 28mpg on the highway.
Under the hood is a 2.5-liter turbo four cylinder engine that will be delivering about 250hp which is less than what the previous model was offering but the Mazda CX-9 is lighter now so that should help balance things out for them.
The Mazda CX-9 will retail for $32k.
