Ultimately, the Volkswagen Polo still falls under the affordable car segment which means as much as they would like to go premium with it, they will also have to make sure that the price does not soar too high.
To improve the Volkswagen Polo without affecting the price, Volkswagen will be fitting the upcoming 2017 model with a new A0 MQB platform which is a simpler setup compared to standard MQB and according to Volkswagen, much cheaper as well.
The 2017 model will be powered by a 1.0 liter naturally aspirated three-cylinder petrol engine that will be delivering about 75bhp. There will also be a 100bhp version and an 115bhp version. The 1.5-liter diesel and petrol engines will also be offered as well.
On the inside, all 2017 model except for the base model will come with Android Auto and Apple Carplay support. We are also expecting to see a digital instrument cluster that matches the one in the new Passat.
