Even when there are a lot of controversies surrounding Fallout 4’s development, there is no doubt that Bethesda will eventually release the highly anticipated sequel on the Xbox One and PS4. Thus, Fallout 4 will be the first title in the popular franchise to debut on high-end gaming machines.
However, it is a mistake to think that Fallout 4 will be offering some spectacular graphics. This is because of Bethesda’s bad habit of recycling old game engine for their newer titles.
Looking back at Fallout 3, the game came out running on the same game engine that was used by Elder Scrolls Oblivion. If the trend is to follow, then Fallout 4 could end up running on Elder Scrolls Skyrim’s game engine.
Of course, the technicalities will be tweaked so that Fallout 4 is able to offer something better than Skyrim. Then again, it won’t be enough for the game to look spectacular when running on full HD gaming consoles.
Some might argue that Fallout 4 will feature a new game engine. This is unlikely to happen as Bethesda would prefer to save the cost and time of production to utilize the system that is already available.
With that being said, it is best for Fallout fans to keep the expectations low when it comes to Fallout 4. Otherwise, they will be at risk of a major disappointment if things don’t go as expected in Fallout 4.
