GTA 5 Online Is Free To Play Says Take Two CEO… Umm Okay

Rockstar might be the one of the best game developers around but little is known that the company is a snake-tongued corporate identity. There was that one time when Take Two Interactive’s CEO stressed that GTA 5 is a free-to-play game.

Apparently, the head of GTA 5 got it all wrong. Players have to pay a whopping $60 to purchase GTA 5 before being able to play it for “free”. In other words, it is not free.

Rockstar has bagged in mountain-loads of cash having sold over 32 million copies of GTA 5 and the lads still has the cheek to say that the game is free for the players.

Perhaps we have been taking the meaning too literally. However, there is one other point to prove this contradiction.

GTA 5 comes with a multiplayer mode. The GTA Online has been pretty much awesome until the moment Rockstar spoiled it by introducing micro-transactions. This service will enable players to skip the grinding by trading real life cash for those in the game.

Introducing such a feature most certainly does not make the game free. Yes, it might be optional but the game developer described it as a decision to delight the consumers.

All in all, there are a lot of contradictions with Rockstar and GTA 5. Maybe it might not affect us but it is an eye-opener.
