Ford will be giving the 2017 Ford Fusion Energi an upgrade to help increase the range of the 2017 model.
According to Ford, the upgraded 2017 Ford Fusion Energi will be able to offer about 610miles of range after the upgrade. The previous model only offered about 550miles of range.
They added that they were able to increase the range of the model by upgrading the powertrain software as well as upgrading the regenerative braking. The upgrades will allow the vehicle to recycle some of the energy back to the battery.
The Ford Fusion Energi will be offering about 21miles of range on electric alone. Once that is all used up, the vehicle will switch to the conventional model running on the gasoline engine. The Ford Fusion Energi has a top speed of 85mph.
While 610miles is impressive, it looks like the consumers are still not happy about the 21miles electric range with many saying that they should work on extending the electric range so that their customers can have enough for daily commutes.
