It was clear that one of Mazda’s goal for the Mazda CX-9 was to improve the fuel economy of the vehicle but nobody knew how much more fuel efficient the Mazda CX-9 will be after the upgrade until now.
NRCan reported that the Mazda CX-9 should be 35% better in terms of fuel economy and now we have the EPA numbers to match up to that.
According to Mazda, the Mazda CX-9 with the front wheel drive system will return about 22mpg in the city and 28mpg on the highway. The Mazda CX-9 with the all-wheel drive system will return about 21mpg in the city and 27mpg on the highway. Based on the new numbers, the Mazda CX-9 is estimated to be 32% more fuel efficient than the previous model.
Under the hood of the Mazda CX-9 is a 2.5 liter Skyactiv-G turbocharged four-cylinder engine that will be pushing out about 250hp and 310lb ft of torque.
