When it comes to everyone’s favourite past time activities, movies is the most mentioned answer. Movies are relatively affordable and it is kind of a rare to see anybody hating a good movies show.
Despite having a mainstream award show with box office ratings more well-known than any other ratings, movies are always second best to games. Video games can make hundreds and millions of dollars in a single day period compared to the all-time best-selling movie.
This is the case with GTA 5 which earns US$800 Million in just 24 hours. That is more than any movie out there. However, there is an explanation for this. A game cost almost $60 while a movie ticket is only $13. Even if games have fewer sales, it is enough to bag a huge profit thanks to the cost to create margin.
GTA 5 is one of the best-selling games all time, shattering plenty of records. The game of the year for 2013 has a huge fan base which gifted Rockstar the mountains of gold. In fact, the best-selling movie, Avatar, only managed to earn $760,507,625. This figure is still fewer than the $800m from GTA 5.
So if you happen to meet up with Leslie Benzie and Steven Spielberg, get the autograph from the former. After all, he is the richer of the two.
