2015 Toyota Corolla Review: Another Disappointment

The Toyota Corolla has long served the masses as a simple and reliable vehicle in history. Soon, Toyota will be launching the next-generation Corolla and it is going to be something better than its predecessors.

For starters, the Corolla is confirmed to come with push-button ignition, improved navigation and audio systems. Inside the cabin, the comfort is enhanced through using soft materials. The seating layout is also positioned in a manner that it will free up more space for both the driver and passengers.

The entry level model is powered by a 1.8L 4-cylinder engine that is paired to a CVT transmission or the option of a 4-speed manual transmission. There is a new trim level introduced as well and it is called the LE Eco which comes with Valvemetric technology. The latter generates 140hp and 126ft-lbs of torque.

In terms of fuel consumption, the entry level Corolla returns 27mpg in the city and 36mpg in the highway. The LE Eco model, on the other hand, returns 30mpg on the city and 40mpg on the highway. Obviously, this is a major upgrade from its predecessor. Furthermore, the Corolla is also affordable with prices starting out at $17,500.

Of course, this is nothing new from the Corolla. With every new model released, the focus has always been on MPG and comfort. We are not surprised with the upgrades on the upcoming Corolla and actually wished for something more like a turbocharged mill.
