It has been four years since Fallout New Vegas was released and it is about time Bethesda starts producing Fallout 4. There is a lot of anticipation for the game but to be excited for it is a mistake.
To explain that, fans need to look at Bethesda as a business corporation instead of a game producer. There is a clear difference between the two. A business corporation aims at making profits while a game producer creates titles with passion.
Bethesda has already proven itself to be the former through Fallout 3. All the company ever did was taking Elder Scrolls Oblivion and tweak it to become an FPS. This resulted in a poorly plotted storyline, a lacklustre gaming mechanism and many more. Now, Fallout 3 might won an award for being a bestseller but it manage to achieve that through the popularity of the franchise.
It is simply like the Star Trek movies. The film franchise is really great but there are titles like those produced by JJ Abrams that is obviously a cheap trick to earn an extra buck. The fear is similar for Fallout 4 to end up with the same fate.
It is not right to prevent gamers from buying Fallout 4, if it gets released. There is no harm into doing so but to be overexcited for it might bite back on the fans.
