The BMW i8 was introduced a few years ago which means it is about time the models received an upgrade and that is exactly what BMW plans to do. The 2018 BMW i8 will be coming in with a long list of upgrades.
The BMW i8 will still be powered by a 1.5-liter three-cylinder gasoline engine but unlike the previous model, the 2017 model will come in with 420hp. The previous model delivered about 362hp. The engine will be mated to an upgraded six-speed auto transmission.
With all the upgrade, it is believed that the BMW i8 should be able to go from 0-62mph in less than 4.4 seconds, the time of the current model. It is also believed that the upgrade model will be fitted with a new battery with a larger capacity as well as come with the new Halo inductive wireless charging system.
The 2017 BMW i3 is expected to arrive late next year.
