Chevrolet has just launched the new 2016 Chevrolet Malibu Hybrid and Chevrolet is proud to tell the world that it is all thanks to the Chevrolet Volt.
While the Chevrolet Malibu Hybrid will be powered by a different engine, Chevrolet made it clear that the difference between the Chevrolet Malibu Hybrid and the Chevrolet Volt is very minimum.
Chevrolet pointed out that only five parts are different on the Chevrolet Malibu Hybrid. The engine input damper, stator A, Rotor A, Rotor B, and one-way clutch. Unlike the Volt, the Malibu Hybrid will be powered by a 1.5kWh battery pack.
With the upgrades and Volt base engine, the new Chevrolet Malibu Hybrid will be able to deliver about 47mpg. The new Malibu Hybrid is currently the first model to be fitted with the GM engineered power-dense battery.
Chevrolet also added that the engine could be expanded and scale to fit the other models which mean we might see more of it in the future.
