The 2016 Mazda CX-9 will be able to go a little further now thanks to all the upgrades it got for 2016. It was previously revealed that the Mazda CX-9 will come with better fuel economy this time but at that time, the only information we had was the test result from NRCan.
The NRCan concluded that the Mazda CX-9’s fuel economy should improve by 35% but since the EPA results had not been released yet, we did not know the exact numbers the Mazda CX-9 will be offering.
According to EPA, the Mazda CX-9 will be returning about 22mpg in the city and 28mpg on the highway with the front wheel drive system. The All wheel drive model will return about 21mpg in the city and 27mpg on the highway which means it is 32% more fuel-efficient than the previous model.
The Mazda CX-9 will be powered by a 2.5 liter Skyactiv-G turbocharged four-cylinder engine that will be delivering about 250hp.
