Rumours have surfaced suggesting that Hyundai is currently developing a full-fledged hybrid vehicle that will bury the Prius for good. The vehicle in question will run on a dedicated gas-electric hybrid instead of an eco-friendly variant of an existing model.
Hyundai’s CEO, Kim Choong-ho failed to response to the rumours, thus hinting it to be true. The chief did mention however that the company will take the lead in the future by raising the competitiveness of our environment-friendly cars like hybrid-only cars, plug-in hybrid cars and fuel cell hydrogen cars.
While nothing official is being revealed yet, we can expect the mysterious hybrid to make its appearance in 2016. Over at Toyota, they will be launching the next-generation Prius next year.
