Half Life is one of the biggest names in the gaming industry. The franchise has been a best-seller and won multiple Game of The Year awards back in its prime. Ever since then, the huge fan base was left waiting for a third sequel.
It is 2014 now and the wait for Half Life 3 has reached a decade long. Fans are beginning to show signs of frustration. That is the case until Newell stepped up and clarified the situation earlier this month.
DigitalJournal spotted a statement from Valve’s co-founder which revealed that Half Life 3 isn’t in the makings. Gabe Newell claims that Valve is not just about Half Life. There are many other games that the company wish to develop in the future.
Valve has been really secretive when it comes to Half Life. Over the past decade, the company often gives the mute to fans who are asking for Half Life 3.
However, Newell hinted that Half Life 3 is still a possibility. At the end of that statement, the co-founder quoted, “…the key is to just continue to follow where the customers are leading.” The customers have been demanding for Half Life 3 and if what Newell said is true, then perhaps development is about to begin.
Half Life is one franchise that can give a strong competition to the likes of Halo and Call of Duty. It has been offering players a unique, fast paced first-person shooter where players struggles to fend off an alien invasion.
