Weeks ago, Porsche launched the 911 GTS and not long later, the German carmaker introduced the new Cayenne GTS model. The latter is said to sit between the S trim and the Turbo trim.
Regardless, there is a lot of power being offered by the Cayenne GTS. It runs on the new bi-turbo 3.6L V6 diesel engine that replaces the high capacity 4.8L V8. Despite being downsized, the new engine managed to arrive with more power.
In detail, the V6 mill offers 20hp and 63lb-ft of torque more than the old V8. Furthermore, it enables to Cayenne GTS to record a faster sprinting time of 5.2 seconds. This is a whopping 0.5 second improvement from the predecessor. There is also a top speed of 162mph in place.
The Cayenne GTS is also slightly different than its siblings. For starters, the car is 24mm lower than the latter and it also comes equipped with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) as standard.
On another note, there is a new entry level Cayenne being introduced together with the GTS variant. The vehicle is powered by a 3.6L V6 that generates 296hp. This enables it to run from standstill to 62mph in 7.7 seconds, while having a top speed of 143mph.
Then again, it is still best to pay the extra for the GTS model. The diesel mill is 62mph quicker and it retails at £72,523. That is a big sum to pay considering that the entry level model cost £49,576.
