If you thing the latest Octavia from Skoda was tough, wait till you meet the all-new Octavia Scout. The off-road vehicle that is based on the Octavia has been released last week and it is believed to be more solid and durable than the original model.
The Scout arrived with a new clack body cladding on the front and back bumper. The SUV is also larger in size and have a higher ground clearance. On the other hand, the Scout isn’t anything beautiful as it has a more boxy structure, like the old days.
Under the hood, the SUV draws its power from a 2.0 liter turbodiesel engine that delivers 148bhp and is mated to a six speed DSG transmission. This enables the scout to sprint from 0-62mph in just 9.1 seconds. The top speed, on the other hand, is capped at 129mph. If you desire more power, Skoda is offering 181hp with the top-of-the-line scout.
Aside from that, the SUV drives on the AWD system which confirms that the vehicle is stable and is fit to take on the challenging outdoors. Heck, it will even make a perfect camping vehicle thanks to the large 610 litre boot space.
Unfortunately, Skoda won’t be letting the Octavio go for a cheap. The German carmaker has put a £25,315 for the entry level model, which is relatively more than the Qashqai and other great SUVs out there.
