Call of Duty: Ghosts came out a short time ago, for all platforms, including the PS4 and Xbox One. Activision isn’t resting on its laurels, though, as it’s working on the next game already.
Call of Duty is the studio’s biggest money-spinner so it’s going to keep hold of it. Looking at historical release patterns, it’s likely Treyarch will be designing the third Black Ops game.
Sledgehammer – who worked on Modern Warfare 3 – is working with Activision, so there might even be a fourth instalment on the way.
Call of Duty has always been popular, but some reports have slated it of late, claiming that it’s going downhill. Ghosts didn’t use the amazing capabilities of the new consoles to their full, so COD fans are demanding that Activision makes the next game really put the machines through their paces.
We can expect the follow up to Ghosts in Q4 of 2014. Activision has been busy on other titles, too, which are out later this year: Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls, Destiny, Skylanders, Heartstone and World of Warcraft.
