By 2018, Alfa Romeo aims to launch 8 new vehicles with two of them being SUVs. The first of the two is expected to get launched in 2016. This upcoming car will be challenging the Porsche Macan and the Audi Q5.
When viewing the leaked design of the vehicle, the Alfa Romeo SUV somehow looks like the Macan itself. It sports a compact body with large tyres. Of course, it manage to stand out from the crowd thank to the unique trademark grille from Alfa Romeo.
Under the hood, Alfa will be blessing the SUV with a brand new four and six cylinder engines that are currently being produced by the Italian carmaker. The V6 turbo will be among them, and will be offering 500bhp. As for the diesel engine, it will come with 350bhp. This is more than the 309bhp on the Q5 itself.
Similarly, the next Vovlo XC-90will also be coming with the Alfa engines. In addition to that, it will come with rear wheel cum four wheel drive architecture, which will offer 50:50 weight distribution.
Aside from the SUV, Alfa will also launch the Guilia next year, and it will rival the BMW 3-series. Also, there is the upcoming Alfa Rome 4C Spider, which is a joint project with the next generation Mazda 5.
