Over in the US the compact 4×4 market doesn’t have many competitors. At the moment there is just the Jeep Renegade. However it is looking as though Chevrolet may want to get in on the action as they are releasing the Chevrolet Niva, which will compete with the Renegade.
News about the compact 4×4 is scarce right now, but from pictures revealed by Chevrolet it does look as though the Niva is going to be an off-roader. It will arrive with the BFGoodrich tires, snorkel, winch, tow hooks, under body cladding, integrated lamp guards and the auxiliary lights and roof rack. Of course there is also going to be the design language of Chevy.
The Niva is a Lada vehicle, but the car was built by General Motors, in a joint venture, which they have had since 1998.
