We can’t say that Chevrolet did not try but it looks like it wasn’t enough. Right from the start, it was clear that Chevrolet had underestimated the demand for the Chevrolet Colorado.
Customers were reporting that they have been having trouble getting their hands on the Chevrolet Colorado. Chevrolet’s solution at that time was to add additional shifts so that their plant can produce more but even that wasn’t enough.
Chevrolet has now announced that they will be upgrading their plant in hopes that it will be able to increase the production rate of the Chevrolet Colorado. Maybe things will start to get better after the update.
It is believe that the slow production rate was one of the main reason why the Chevrolet Colorado has been trailing behind the Toyota Tacoma ever since Toyota released the new Toyota Tacoma. Maybe they can start closing up the gap soon.
