If you are a Samsung Galaxy S4 or Note 3 user, you are in for a treat of a lifetime. There is an unlock code for both devices that is doing the rounds and it will free your smartphone from being cuffed to a single carrier.
In other words, users can insert a SIM card from other carriers into their Galaxy S4 or Note 3 without facing any restriction. This is particularly useful if you are planning to switch network or if you have a second number.
Furthermore, being able to switch to a different SIM will come in handy if you travel overseas frequently. After all, it is best to get the destination’s local SIM card rather than bearing the expensive roaming rates.
Of course, everything great in life comes with a ‘but’. Unfortunately, we couldn’t find one for the unlock code. It is something very beneficial for you and is also simple to apply. Just follow the steps below and you’ll be on your way with a different network in no time.
One: Insert a new SIM card into your Galaxy Note 2 or Galaxy S4.
Two: Turn off your device then turn it back on again.
Three: Head to the dialpad and enter in *#197328640#.
Four: Choose [1] UMTS > [1] Debug Screen > [8] Phone Control > [6] Network Lock > Options [3] Perso SHA256 OFF.
Five: Wait for 30 seconds or so before heading back into the main menu by choosing “back”.
Six: In your main menu, you’ll see “Network Lock”, so now choose [4] NW Lock NV Data INITIALLIZ
By now, your Samsung Galaxy S4 or Samsung Galaxy Note 3 should be unlocked. You can test it out with a different SIM card and see if it works. On the other hand, some feedback we received revealed that the unlock code can also be used on other Samsung devices as well.
