The ICS update is spreading out very slowly to Android phones and for the Galaxy Note GT-N7000 users living in the UK and Ireland, firmware version XXLQ2 has arrived. Users in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Spain and the UK can upgrade to the firmware while users in different areas can flash the firmware to their devices.

An important note to consider is that the firmware, like other versions, has the same bug that could cause damage to the SD card and it could brick your Samsung Galaxy Note if you were to wipe date, try a factory reset or reformat partitions from recovery. If you do install the firmware DO NOT do any of the above after the installation of the XXLQ2 firmware. Extract N7000XXLQ2_N7000XEULP4_XEU.zip files to the desktop of your computer. Once you have extracted you should files called N7000XXLQ2_N7000XXLPT_N7000XEULP4_HOME.tar.md5 and SS_DL.dll
Extract Odin 1.85.zip onto your computer.
Turn off your device.
Put the Galaxy Note into “Download Mode” You can do this by pressing and holding down the “Volume Down” key, “Home button” and the “Power button”. A warning screen will appear and you press the “Volume up” key to go into the Download Mode.
Head into the folder where you extracted the file named “Odin3 v1.85” and double click the exe file to launch it on your computer.
Click the “PDA” button in Odin 3.
Choose the N7000XXLQ2_N7000XXLPT_N7000XEULP4_HOME.tar.md5 file.
Do not change anything in Odin 3 expect the above loading of the file.
Connect your handset to your computer via the USB cable. You will then see the world “Added” in the message box of Odin. If you do not see this make sure that the USB drivers have been properly installed on your computer.
Click the “Start” button in Odin 3 to flash the firmware to your handset. When the flash has completed your Galaxy Note will reboot automatically. The message “Pass” will also show up in Odin 3.
Detach the handset from the computer when you see the Samsung logo appear on your handsets screen.
You will now be running the latest official ICS firmware update which is version XXLQ2 on your Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000.
