The Eclipse from LG may be launched sometime around Halloween in the US and it may be on multiple carriers, reports PocketNow. Word had only just come out that Verizon may be getting the Optimus LTE2 from LG and now there is talk about the LS970 Eclipse which Sprint was reportedly interested in too.

The Eclipse takes things up a notch thanks to the 2GB RAM and the Snapdragon S4 quad-core processor coupled with an Adreno 320 CPU. Bluetooth SIG has released photos of what the Eclipse should look like. They gave out a listing of both models of phone, the LS970 and E970, this is yet another handset that AT&T may have ties with. The listing states that the handset is compatible with LTE and it claims that the device should be out in the US some time close to Halloween. However this is a rather odd place to reveal the date of a phone’s launch.
There has also been the discovery of UAPs for the phones which appear to confirm details of the hardware but they do have some inconsistencies. There is the unusual screen resolution of the Eclipse at 1280 x 768 which is in some of the documents but then there is also the 1280 x 720 resolution which of course would be more along traditional lines.
When the LG Eclipse does show up on US carriers like AT&T and Sprint, we can expect it to go head to head with the most powerful Android smartphones out there including the Samsung Galaxy S3 and HTC One X / HTC EVO 4G LTE. The Samsung Galaxy S3 in particular does feature a quad-core processor in some markets and 2GB RAM in others, however not together like the LG Eclipse. So if you are having a tough time between picking the quad-core international Samsung Galaxy S3 off Amazon and the 2GB RAM US versions coming later this month, you might want to hang on for the LG Eclipse and get the best of both worlds.
