Stand Back Samsung Galaxy S3, New Superphone In Town!

As we keep moving further into 2012, the next generation of Android smartphones are expected to be unveiled. One in particular that has been leaked so many times that you would think is here already is the Motorola Droid RAZR HD which is coming to Verizon. While it has not been officially announced, leaks have revealed just about every detail and the phone is expected to stand head to head with the Samsung Galaxy S3.

Motorola aims to fight Samsung Galaxy S3 with its DROID RAZR HD

The leaked photos show the device with the back being made of a Kevlar-like material similar to the RAZR MAXX and RAZR. Ports included in the handset are the microUSB and microHDMI and the casing appears to be on the thick side which suggest that it might come with the 3,300 mAh battery, if true this could be an advantage over the Galaxy S3 which has a smaller battery and somewhat cheap plastic exterior finishing.

Benchmarks which have also been leaked say that the display of the device is 1196×720 and the phone is to have dedicated on screen buttons. If the screen size is correct this puts it in the same as the Galaxy S3 screen almost. The Motorola DROID RAZR HD should have the Snapdragon dual core S4 processor which should run at 1.5GHz and this of course is nearly the same speed that was clocked on the S3 that is making its way to Verizon. What may let it down is the reported 1GB of RAM as opposed to the 2GB for the US Samsung Galaxy S3 models.

At the moment there is no news about the price and release date, leaked or otherwise, but with a drop in price recently of the RAZR MAXX this superphone may be not too far away. Its biggest rivals will no doubt be the Samsung Galaxy S3 and HTC One X.
