No one in their right mind would consider going out and purchasing a brand new HTC One X and then using it as a hammer, or would they? Well that is exactly what someone recently did and posted a video of it.
HTC One X not as tough as previously portrayed, will shatter if hammered
Previously there was a video on YouTube which showed just how tough the screen of the HTC One X really was. The first video showing the handset being used as a hammer to prove the point of the screens toughness was uploaded by an engineer who admitted to carrying out such an irresponsible test. The video has now being taken off YouTube and HTC are asking their consumers not to carry out the actions seen on the video despite the HTC One X escaping unharmed. HTC said that while the screen on the HTC One X is tough and made from glass that is tough, it is not impenetrable.
Failing to head the warning, a Taiwanese user decided that he too would carry out the test himself and not surprisingly has had to shell out around $133 to mend the screen on his HTC One X after destroying it. The video shows the man with a batten of wood and two nails sticking out of it. He then begins to hammer in the first nail using the beautiful screen of the phone, which would leave lovers of the HTC One X squirming in their seats as they watch the screen shatter and break. The guy then looks at the broken screen in amazement as though surprised at the destruction. The video is clearly a lesson of why you should never use your HTC One X as a hammer.
As for the engineer who first showed the HTC One X had a tough display, we’re not sure what to make of it as it shattered so easily in this instance.
