We know that the Samsung Galaxy S3 will be offered on five of the major carriers in the US, including Verizon and now more details are emerging about the US versions. PhoneScoop have reported that Verizon plans on releasing an update to the Samsung Galaxy S3 software that would support global roaming very soon.
Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3 to get global roaming support shortly
The Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3 will not support global roaming straight out of the box and it may be some time before the update is available, according to Verizon. Verizon also said that they have plans to launch updates to a “number” of devices in 2012 to ensure that users can use them around the world. This has been a rumor that has been going around for some time so we can only hope that for all international travelers who have ordered the Galaxy S3 the update will not be too long following the launch of the Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3.
The Samsung Galaxy S3 is one of the most wanted phones with the Android operating system of 2012. It’s not surprising given the fact that the handset comes with one of the largest screens, Super AMOLED HD at 4.8 inches and also boasts an impressive range of software including S Voice, Smart Stay, S Planner and S Memo.
On a side note, Verizon Wireless opened up pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy S3 yesterday. If you pre-order, you won’t lose your grandfathered unlimited data plan. This may be one of the biggest incentives for those contemplating pre-ordering or waiting for the S3 to arrive in stores.
