The Samsung Galaxy S5 is finally released in South Korea days ago and the sales record had not been convincing despite it being in released in Samsung’s home country.
Surprisingly, the Galaxy S4 did so much better than its successor in the South Korean market in the opening days. It seems that the Samsung only manage to sell the Galaxy S5 at a rate of 7,000 units per day. This is short of the Galaxy S4 which achieved 8,000 units per day. Heck, even the Galaxy S4 LTE sold a whopping 10,000 units a day.
This is way more than what the Galaxy S5 has accumulated so far. On the other hand, this is not a worrying sight. Unless you’ve heard, most major telcos in the Korean nation are being inflicted with a ban in sales. This is after the telcos have been spotted breaching the laws of the country. Only one carrier abided by the law and it is the sole distributor of the Galaxy S5.
With only one carrier, Samsung is able to achieve 7,000 units a day. Imagine what it would be like when all the other telcos have their ban lifted.
Come April 11th, the Galaxy S5 will be released in the US and Europe. When that time comes, we will know for sure on if the Galaxy S5 is able to surpass its predecessor.
