Titanfall: Liar, Liar, Pants On Fire!

When an entire game is a multiplayer, there is no way the game developer will allow cheating as it will destroy the gaming experience of the players. As such, a fair play policy is applied. The latest Titanfall game practices such a thing.

Just recently, Respawn Entertainment revealed that any player caught cheating in Titanfall will automatically be banned and placed in the ‘Wimbledon of aimbot contests’. This means that the cheaters will no longer be able to enjoy the public servers and can only play with fellow cheaters.

However, identifying a cheater is more complex than it sounds. The game’s network engineer, Jon Shiring, revealed that the system is modelled after Battlefield 4. It tracks the player’s game and is able to tell if the sudden enhancement is due to a bug, an accidental cheat or purposely cheating. Even if the player is reported, there will be a thorough investigation done before banning the player.

Jon added that the system has been rather accurate in flagging players who are cheating. Those who exploited the bugs in Titanfall won’t be punished as it is the game developer’s fault.

All in all, Respawn Entertainment has done well in maintaining the balance in Titanfall. The players are also satisfied with the gaming experience which is both safe and secure.
