The Next King: Samsung Galaxy S5, HTC One M8, Xperia Z3 Or G3?

The race for this year’s phone of the year is expected to be much hotter than the last year. Not long from now, the Samsung Galaxy S5, HTC One M8, LG G3 and Sony Xperia Z2 will be released and all four devices will be competing with each other.

Both the Xperia Z2 and Galaxy S5 has been unveiled during the MWC earlier this month and a couple of days’ from now, we will see the HTC M8 coming to light. The LG G3 will then follow suit in June which is not far from now. Fans are definitely in a dilemma on which device they wish to get.

The processors on all devices are expected to be that same Qualcomm Snapdragon 801. Expect the differences to be with its clocking speed although it will be a narrow one. The major factor is with the RAM. The Galaxy S5 has 2GB of RAM which is one short of the Z2. Both the LG G3 and HTC One M8 are expected to offer 3GB as well.

The Galaxy S5 will look to offer 1920 x 1080p with 432ppi on its 5.1inch FHD Super AMOLED screen powered by a 2,800mAh battery that comes with Super Power Saving feature. Other notable innovations include an improved fingerprint scanner and a heartbeat sensor.

The HTC One, LG G3 and Xperia Z2 is not expected to have these features. Camera-wise, the Galaxy S5 has a whopping 16MP rear camera that has auto-focus at 0.3seconds making it the fastest around. The HTC One M8 will have that trademark Ultrapixel camera which will lack the pixel size but offer a high quality image. Over at the Xperia Z2, the super 20.7MP rear camera is capable of recording videos in 4K.

It all looks similar across all phones except for the LG G3. This upcoming device is expected to offer something different. The processor on the LG G3 is rumoured to be the Odin octa-core. Other rumours suggest it to be the Snapdragon 805. If it is the former, then the LG G3 will be super-fast with four cores being clocked at 2.2GHz with the balance four at 1.7GHz.

The display will also do one better as it is believed to be QHD 2K. Despite nothing official being announced yet, there has been word that the G3 will have its own finger print scanner and a retina display. On the other hand, these are still rumours and things might be exaggerated like how it was with the Galaxy S5.

At the moment, these are the only information on the upcoming devices available. Despite it being rumours, fans should at least wait for the LG G3 to arrive before making a decision. This is to prevent any regrets.
