The successor to the Sony Xperia Z is expected to get released this year. However, things are looking bad for fans of the device in the US as this upcoming smartphone from Sony won’t be shipped to the country.
The Sony Xperia Z2 is going to be the company’s flagship phone this year. It is expected to compete with the likes of the Galaxy S5 and iPhone 5S. As such, it is difficult to swallow Sony’s decision to not release the Z2 in the US.
If fans of Sony can recall, the Japanese tech-giant is looking to replicate Blackberry in the smartphone industry while at the same time, influence from Apple and Samsung’s domination.
Sony’s director for business management, Izzat Kittaneh, revealed that Sony wish to stop making flagship devices on an annual routine. Instead, they will take productivity to a whole new level by materializing ideas and immediately release them to the public.
Aside from Sony’s trademark waterproof and dustproof feature on the Z2, the device is also equipped with what possibly is the best camera in smartphones yet. This 20.7MP camera is capable of taking crisp images and record videos at 4K quality. There is also a noise cancelling feature.
The Z2 is expected to be released in UAE at April 11 and will cost approximately AU$899.95.
