Following the unveiling of the Galaxy S5, many tech analysts have sprung into action to compare this upcoming flagship device from Samsung with all the other high end phones from last year. One particular comparison puts the S5 in a contest with Google’s very own Nexus 5.
There is not much difference when it comes to the size and weight for both smartphones. Even the build of both phones are made of plastic. Although, the Nexus 5 has more appeal to its looks compared to the Galaxy S5.
Even when it comes to display, the S5 and Nexus 5 are evenly matched. Both offers 1080p display on a 5inch ranged screen. Of course, the Nexus 5 offers a slightly better pixel density although that is not an obvious thing to spot.
Features are the segment where the S5 will get ahead of Google’s Nexus 5. This highly anticipated smartphone from Samsung is packed with a fingerprint scanner and heart beat sensor. In addition to that, the cameras offers 16MP certainly overpowered those on the Nexus 5 which is only 8MP. Even video capturing is enhanced with the S5 as there is the 4K and slow motion at 120FPS capabilities.
Also, the Galaxy S5 has a post-shot refocusing where users can select where they want to focus on the image.
Aside from the features, there is the specification. The Samsung Galaxy S5 is newer and built with the latest 2.5GHZ Snapdragon 801 quad core processor. Of course this is better than the Nexus 5 but then again, only by a small margin.
The day the S5 will get released will mark the Nexus 5’s six month in the industry. The latter had a price tag of only $350. There is no way Samsung can match it. The bigger question now is with the devices’ value for money factor. The Nexus 5 is much older and isn’t far off the S5. However, the cost will definitely be an issue.
