Samsung Galaxy S5 users on the Verizon network can start celebrating as the Big Red carrier had just pushed out the Android 5.0 Lollipop to the smartphone. The OS was rolled out OTA and S5 users should receive the prompt to update the device.
Similarly, AT&T too is updating its Samsung Galaxy S5 devices but unfortunately, it is not the Android 5.0 Lollipop. Instead, it is the Android 4.4.4 KitKat. With all the craze on the Lollipop, it is unsure on why the All-American carrier decided to launch an outdated update.
AT&T has yet to respond to our queries on the matter so at the moment, S5 users on the network will have to stay content with the final KitKat build. The upside to this is that users will get to enjoy HD Voice capability, AT&T Mail, Uber app and Remote Support.
It is not all doom and gloom for AT&T users since they are still bound to receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop sometime in the future. The carrier has already made public a tour video of the OS and it is expected to arrive before Q3 this year.
